The ridge top four wheel drive tour with Pierre was amazing and a must do when you are here … his knowledge of the area and driving skills are the best ! The food was delicious and compliments to the chef … we had Barramundi and steak and duck .. a great selection and beautifully cooked and presented! All the staff were lovely and happy to chat and so knowledgeable about the area , wildlife and suggestions of treks to explore . It certainly is a wonder of the world here and worth the drive on bumpy dirt roads to get here . We are so happy we made the decision to come to Arkaroola

(May 20, 2023, 10:48 am)Great spot to camp. They have powered and unpowered and bush camping. All close to amenities. The restaurant has breakfast, lunch and dinner available. Tours available from the reception, fuel available. A really good wilderness location .

(April 16, 2023, 1:32 am)Wow! So glad we decided to go to Arkaroola. Fantastic experience. Ridgetop tour, with Pierre as our guide, was amazing. The knowledge he shared and the scenery. A must do if you visit.
We stayed in a self contained cottage, which suited us. We had our own verandah and fire pit. The night sky was spectacular!
We found all the staff so friendly and accommodating. Petra and the other housekeeper were so helpful and lovely.
We had a meal in the restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. Really nice.
Highly recommend a stay at Arkaroola. Yes some things look a bit tired and not a lot of supplies available in the shop but overall it’s great! -

(November 23, 2022, 12:52 am)Way out in the wilderness...bliss. Stars were amazing and the scenery is spectacular. Great 4wd self explore tracks. Main toilet amenities block very very tired and dusty (but serviceable). Great sized pool but no toilet or change room anywhere near it and felt like you were surrounded on one side by a works yard and set of sheds. The place hasn't had much investment over the years it would seem and while the location is it's strong point, there will come a time when it needs to keep up a little with the world if people are coming two hours on unsealed roads to visit. Just a tidy up here and there would help, nothing major. I think this is a view shared by others. That said...we don't want places ruined by big city style holiday park operators so this place is still a spectacular sense of wilderness and a truly different place/ experience at the top of the Flinders. The yellow footed rock wallabies are awesome too. Great walks/ hikes (Acacia ridge stunning). We came for two or three days and stayed six and definitely worth it and a down to earth feel. Would highly recommend.
