  For 2 weeks I've been suffering probs with my left leg's knee cup.???????? I went to see dr Varai- Makura Ncomanzi, the wife of my GP dr Lovemore Ncomanzi at 'Plaza Medical Mackay'. She gave me referrals for a different x-rays tests, as well she's put me on an antibiotic to help to fight if there was any infection there. The swelling in my left knee cup went down a little bit, but pain stayed. So, today I had MRI done at Qld -Xray on Nebo Rd. I went first to Mackay Radiology, but was told that their MRI machine's broken down????????? And if I wanted, I can be booked for next week, and it will cost me out of pocket (no Medicare rebate*?!????????) a 'cold' $250... OMG, I cannot walk, bend, lay down. I am on painkillers, Voltaren ointment & antibiotic now going into 2nd week!???????????? I remembered that 3 years ago, even though that I was referred by my private GP, I had my MRI done in trauma emergency for 'free', on my right knee cap, with a simular problem as my left knee cap. Now, sneakingly our govnt introduced fees for MRI from July 2018!????????. I bet that if our rich politicians, or members of their families suffered from what I have to deal with, they would be attended to in an 'express way' & privately for nothing hey.???? Disgusting & unbelivable, but truth! So, lovely young lady at Qld-Xray on Nebo Rd. Told me on the phone when I rang to enquire, that I can have MRI on my left knee cup done today, straight away at cost of $200. I went there, done it & paid for it by my Mcd. Staff at Qld-Xray's in West Mackay was lovely, helpful & polite. I asked for permit to take a few photos. I of course took a pic of the MRI 'Simens' huge machine that I was half in it ????????????, when it was trying to solve out my left knee cap's probs?!☺ Results will be emailed to my doctor this arvo. I hope for some answers, & then an adequate treatment, maybe even with a physio, or acupuncture????????? X-ray of my both knee caps showed that I have a little bit of arthritis, but it's not too bad as for my ripe age of 30+++???????? hey. If worse comes to the worse, I might need to have an ultrasound on my left knee cap with 'syringing' some fluid out for pathology check up, & at the same time injecting into my poor knee cortisone????????? Oh, boy, I do not wish to anyone what pain I am in with my left leg! I elevate it daily, wear a suporting bracket, nuture with cold packs, rubb osteo Voltaren into it...   P.S. So, after seeing my MRI results, lovely dr Varai explained to me thoroughly what was wrong with my left knee painful cup...And she gave me a referral to Base Hosp. To see an orthopedic surgeon????????????? It's not good, but not the worsest hey. Hopely, I won't need to wait 3 years to see the specialist?! (I'll wait a week to hear from hospital, then I'll call them, that is what my dr said to me*) And no, I am not taking any bloody painkillers* ???????? Cross fingers that I'll see orthopedic dr soon? But again, he will only tell me what my doctor told me hey. And yes, I am on bloody 'waiting list' to see orthopedist as cat.2 patient, so waiting time is more then 3 mths!????????????That is what I was told on the phone with Outpatients... For now I have to put up 'domestic ways' with my pain in left leg ???????????? And I limp wherever I go. What helps me a bit are: Cold packs, protective bracket, elevating my legs, etc. Plus living in believe that lots of ppl. Are in a worse situation/condition that mine.As I said: 'Getting old ????is not fun at all!???????????????? Cheers.

  Such a warm and friendly staff from reception to the tech staff at Ultrasound and CT-Scan units. Congrats to all of you for doing your job showing you love what you're doing!
