Great place for the rail enthusiasts, alittle lacking on exhibits at the moment, but is taking on more for the school holidays. Very tidy and clean, well presented and prices are extremely reasonable. Plenty of room for families to picnic and just generally play. Canteen is sparse and plentiful with food and general merchandise. Can cater for large events, possible weddings etc.

Really fun place! Lots to see, Lots to play with, Lots of interactive buttons, leavers, cool sound effects... our son is obsessed with trains and this was heaven to a 1.5yr old! He was SO excited exploring the all the trains, inside and out. It's quite warm in the main building, but there are plenty of air conditioned spaces to cool down.
The cafe is really write nice as well. Basic menu, but on the whole, really nice! The staff were professional, polite and very helpful.
You can easily spend a few hours here and the kids will have a great time.

So fun for kids and adults. Loved the little bits and pieces as well as the huge play area for kids. Well thought out and takes a good chunk of the day. We could have stayed most the day

This place is huge!! Lots of history with heritage listed buildings and enormous garden areas.
So much to see inside the museum itself, such as the model rail display....which is fabulous.
And "Underworld, Mugshots from the Roaring 20's" is an amazing exhibit visiting from a Sydney museum at the moment, finishes in Feb 2019, definitely worth a look!!
All the staff were friendly and helpful. Plus they have a lovely cafe with good food and coffee. Or you can bring your own picnic and eat in the grounds.
