  FARMGATE IS A GOOD PLACE TO WORK! My girlfriend and I been working two places before and we were surprised with what they do for you. They make sure the farms will give you water, sunscreen etc. (never never seen that before) AND they make a farm go from $75 dollars a bin to $300, so we wouldn’t be screwed over.
  People will always find something to complain about, the rent may be high but we experienced way worse!
  We were at farmgate for 2 months dec-jan and we don’t regret a thing.
  Remember why you are working in another country, and stop comparing it.

  Before I give this review let's clear a couple things. Farming is horrendous work and is not the responsibility of farmgate. Working hostels everywhere will have higher rents than normal backpacker hostels (you can say the rents are bundled with a 'work finders fee' since a wh is essentially a business).
  
  So why am I giving this place 3 stars? It was just way overpriced even by working hostel price standards. So I was paying $215 per week for some cabin room I shared with 2 others and a kitchen with 5. This place definitely lacks on facilities. So the kitchen appliances cannot be used simultaneously as it will trip the circuit breaker so one at a time. 2 washing machines and a dryer between all the people in the hostel. Apart from a pool and little bbq area there's not much to do. Also Trish does have a very foul attitude towards us backpackers.
  
  However Mal, the owner, is very knowledgeable on second year visa application process and everything around it. Also the farms they put you on are quite good.
