FIG is primarily a fresh food member co-op offering a variety of organic/chemical-free food boxes as well as an extensive Organic Pantry, local organic eggs, honey, etc.
Much of the produce is certified organic or in conversion to organics, with some guaranteed chemical free produce as well. Our priority is to support the local farmers however not all produce is grown locally - yet! Some weeks we can supply 100% of local produce, other times it's less. We conduct fortnightly bulk orders for those who juice, make smoothies or want larger quantities of potatoes, for example, and aside from Covid times, have abundent additional fresh produce, dry goods, local raw honey and eggs, etc, to purchase.
The co-op is run by volunteers comprising of a management committee and general members, who share in the setting up and packing away, ordering, weighing & bagging up of vegies, cashier, and lots of little jobs inbetween. We have a membership fee structure which includes a one-off joining fee and an annual fee July-June and that amount depends on the amount of volunteering you can do. FIG would normally open on Mondays from 2.00pm until 5.00pm however have made a few changes due to Covid-19. For the latest on that please email or phone.
We operate weekly throughout the year at the Ourimbah Razorbacks Rugby Club, 10 Chittaway Road, Ourimbah, except for a couple of weeks over Christmas and New Year, and on public holiday Mondays, operate on the Tuesday instead.
For those not local to Ourimbah, we can arrange collection from a variety of FIG Hubs around the Central Coast which may be much closer to where you live.
