Lovely hidden lookout without guard rails. A vertical drop below you and breathtaking views out front. There are 2 lookouts that lead from the car park, go to both - they are both looking out to different directions.
Easy to get to from parking place... pleasant 5 min walk through the bush. Great view.
Seems to be an untapped secret in Morton National Park. Best accessed by a fairly steep hike up the Old Burrier Firetrail (off Grassy Gully Rd) and then a 20min walk along Saals Trail. At the top of Saals Trail take the marked bush trail on the left for 5-10mins and you'll see McKenzies Lookout rock landing open up on your right. Come for incredible views (over Mt Barron, Hanson Hill and Gradys Hill), peace and quiet, and a sense of the immensity of nature! Would make a great rest stop for lunch. The return way makes for a good trail run too.
This lookout can be accessed from Old Burrier Fire Trail off Yalwal Rd. I arrived from another direction via Mckenzie Saddle, basically no track and need to push through dense vegetation. There is long arc of cliff line, provides fantastic birds-eye views over Grassy Gully and Yalwal State Forest.
