Fun drive in. Plenty of room for bushcamping. Fair bit of rubbish left about the place.
All of yalwal is a four wheel drivers paradise.
Best place for 4wd driving.
Great spot to camp if you have a 4x4.
It is a popular spot with locals from Nowra and surrounding area but it a lot of litter has been spread around and the track is not suitable for caravans.
I took my "light off-road" camper trailer down there in Sep 18 and the track off Dean's Gap Rd to Mintbush is pretty rutted out and while my LandCruiser was fine, the trailer bottomed out a few times.
Overall is it a pleasant spot if you can avoid hoons and litter.
We just did a day trip just looking around Mintbush trail. If not wet, easy it is to get upto here. No facilities but if you go in icy cold condition, you can have the site for yourself. Further down, there is another small camp ground. Check permission. I heard, in summer it is closed.
After this, the trail becomes difficult with bush over growth. Dirt bikes go through. Side tracks have some steep gun shot slopes.
